Recent Faculty Achievements: Congrats!
As we close in on the end of the semester, here are some recent faculty achievements we would like to celebrate.
Dr. Tony Affigne was officially installed as Western Political Science Association (WPSA) Vice President and 2025 Program Chair. He will be inducted as WPSA president at next year’s meeting in Seattle.
The RI House/Senate Joint Commission on Older Adults and Housing Affordability has invited Dr. Affinge to present the Long Term Care Coordinating Council’s report on accessible and affordable housing he drafted last spring.
Dr. Ruth Ben-Artzi and Fr. Justin Brophy received 2024 Marion and Jasper Whiting Foundation Fellowships to leverage travel abroad for innovative pedagogical and course development.
This fall, Dr. Ben-Artzi will travel to Portugal to work on her project, titled “From Colonialism to Globalization: Immigration and its Impact on Politics, Culture, and Inequality.”
This summer, Fr. Brophy will go to Ireland to work on his project, titled “The Political History and Theory of the Irish Revolution.”
Dr. Casey Stevens‘ book review of Mike Hulme’s Climate Change Isn’t Everything is forthcoming in the journal Global Environmental Politics.
Finally, congratulations to Dr. Andrea McDonnell on the publication of her fourth book, titled Celebrity Rhetoric and Sexual Misconduct Cases Discursive Self-Cleaving (Routledge).
