Recent PC Political Science Student Achievements!

Members of the Class of 2025, Christina Charie and Gabriel Capella Rios, have been awarded the 2024 PC Summer Undergraduate Research and Creative Grants, throughout which they will each be working under the guidance of Political Science Professor, Dr. Casey Stevens. Capella Rios will be doing archival work in Puerto Rico, while Charie has elected to analyze photo collections during this upcoming Summer. Congratulations to both students on this wonderful accomplishment!

Furthermore, over 200 students participated in the Washington Model Organization of American States (MOAS) Conference last month; among them, just eleven were selected to fulfill a leadership position for 2025, including PC Juniors Jeremy Cumplido and Elyse O’Leary. Each participating school is only able to run two individuals for these roles, making their collective election an incredible and rare accomplishment. Both Cumplido and O’Leary cited their classes with Political Science Professor Dr. Thea Riofrancos as particularly important in informing their achievements. Congratulations to both students, and best of luck throughout the next year!
